The beginnings of the Singhampton Repeater Site, with alternative power sources

VA3WIK 70 cm Repeater Larry Onisto, VE3XPV

 

VA3WIK is currently in experimental mode of operation, powered presently with solar power generation having limited coverage and power. More work is being planned for this site and it is hoped to be running under a more advanced alternative power source in the near future. This will allow us to link this repeater into the network, with reliable service.

 

The repeater is a GE Exec II, fed into a Sinclair Q 3220C duplexer up to the antenna via 7/8' corrugated transmission line to a Decibel 8 UHF array.

 

The array is 100 feet AGL, and is 1750 feet RC-AMSL.
